a portrait of club culture, commissioned by the nieuwe instituut and created during the covid lockdown of 2021. four of us missing the same thing—that moment when you're one with everyone around you and nobody wants it to end. we built a version of a club in the basement of het nieuwe instituut.  a sound system, dj mix, videos, led panels, strobe lights, text. all of it reaching for a feeling, a memory of collective joy. for a brief moment, this was the only club in the netherlands that was open.
