a portrait of club culture, commissioned by het nieuwe instituut and made during the covid lockdown of 2021, where it was shown as every body in the place. four people, missing the same thing: that moment when you're one with everyone around you and nobody wants it to end. a version of a club, built in the basement of het nieuwe instituut — a sound system, a dj mix, videos, led panels, strobe lights, text. all of it reaching for a feeling, a memory of collective joy. for a brief moment, this was the only club in the netherlands that was open. in collaboration with amie galbraith, karl klomp and gaika tavares.
