affinity group™ is the creative studio of juha van 't zelfde, founded in 1994. for over thirty years we have worked across music, film, teaching, ecology and social action, building lasting infrastructure through cooperation — spaces such as de verdieping and lighthouse, and club nights such as viral radio and progress bar.

dj methodology runs under everything we do: we feel before we think, and we listen to how others listen. every project counts the same — large or small, finished or not. nothing is abandoned; the unfinished becomes material for what comes next: exhibitions, films, classes, gardens, websites.

we are currently based in arnhem, working on collective education for the amsterdam university of the arts, pedagogies of club culture for the city of amsterdam, and mondriaan-funded research into the liberatory potential of collective joy. past partners include het nieuwe instituut, sandberg instituut, stedelijk museum, sonic acts, paradiso, art school maa, bimhuis, engage festival, exit festival, and plan b festival, with collaborators across the nordics, the balkans, the caribbean, latin america and australia.
