a dialogue on club culture as pedagogy, contributed to a book asking what an institute for nightculture might be. it explores how to teach the social, cultural, and political value of club spaces—centring community, solidarity, emancipation, and creativity. the conversation examines the tension between institutionalising underground, urgent, and subversive cultures, and preserving what makes them vital. it articulates models for club culture to thrive: community-owned, cooperatively-managed sound systems and dance halls. celebration as serious pedagogy that rehearses liberation. the answer to institutional legibility: education. study and teach club spaces as sites of joy, care, and communal imagination.
